STEP 1 – Have you completed NCSI Criminal Background check and SafeSport Training within the last 2 years?
If you completed training after 9/1/18, then proceed to STEP 2 and select your sports discipline.
If you completed training before 9/1/18, then proceed to STEP 2 and select your sports discipline. Then after completing the registration process, contact USA Roller Sports at email@example.com or 402-483-5771 x207 to add your certification to your card.
Read below, then proceed to STEP 2 to complete your registration. After completing your registration, click on your Dashboard and the appropriate links on the right of your Dashboard to complete all training required. At this point your card will be automatically updated to remove the “Uncertified” status.
USA Roller Sports has partnered with the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) to offer background checks and with the U.S. Center for SafeSport to offer SafeSport training for coaches and officials. Beginning January 1, 2018, ALL Coaches, Officials and Club Officers must have completed the required SafeSport Training courses and a Criminal Background check to maintain their membership status. As an FYI, some background checks can take up to two weeks to complete. There is no fee associated with either the SafeSport training or Criminal Background check.
As of January 1, 2018, the SafeSport online training consists of three courses. Each course is approximately 30 minutes in length and will address the following subjects:
As of October 1, 2018, refresher course - Refresher 1: Recognizing and Reporting Misconduct was added to the list. Anyone who has already completed the core SafeSport Trained requirement, should complete Refresher 1: Recognizing and Reporting Misconduct. NGBs are required to communicate this update to their membership by September 1, 2019 with a compliance deadline of the end of 2020.
